Mu is a radically minimal, hyper-fast static site generator built in pure Rust.

Unlike traditional SSGs that require heavy node_modules, complex template engines, and megabytes of JavaScript, Mu embraces radical minimalism:

  • Plain .txt files for all your writing (Notepad-ready)
  • Filename automatically becomes the post title
  • File creation date automatically becomes the published date
  • Strictly 0.0 KB JavaScript, zero trackers, zero bloat
  • Average page wire size under 2.8 KB (pre-compressed with Gzip)
  • Incremental compilation in 5 milliseconds

Get Started:

  1. Download standalone binary for Windows, Linux, or macOS:

  1. Open terminal and scaffold a new site:

mu init

  1. Build and preview locally:

mu build
mu serve

The design is Neo-Brutalist: high contrast, hard drop shadows, punchy colors, and comfortable zero-JS dark mode.
